Scan Metrics Explained

Understanding your scan metrics helps you optimize QR code performance.

Total Scans

Every time someone scans your QR code, it counts as one scan.

Includes:

  • Successful redirects
  • Multiple scans from the same person
  • All devices and locations

Unique Scans

A deduplicated count of unique visitors.

How it works:

  • Based on hashed IP address
  • One person equals one unique scan per day
  • Resets daily

Why it matters:

  • Shows actual reach
  • Filters out repeat scanners
  • Better for ROI calculations

Scan Rate

How scans change over time.

Calculations:

  • Daily average
  • Week-over-week change
  • Month-over-month change

Conversion Rate

The percentage of scans that result in conversions. Learn how to set up conversion goals.

Conversion Rate = (Conversions / Scans) × 100
