Connect QR Advanced to Slack

Receive alert notifications directly in your Slack workspace when important events happen with your QR codes.

Connect QR Advanced to Slack to receive alert notifications directly in your Slack channels. When alerts trigger, you'll get instant messages keeping your team informed.

What You Can Receive

Slack notifications work with our Alerts feature. When an alert triggers, a formatted message is sent to your chosen Slack channel with:

  • Alert name and type
  • Affected QR code
  • Relevant metrics (scan counts, thresholds, etc.)
  • Direct link to your dashboard

Connecting Slack

Step 1: Start the Connection

  • Go to Settings > Integrations > Slack
  • Click Connect Slack

Step 2: Authorize in Slack

  • You'll be redirected to Slack
  • Select your workspace
  • Review the permissions (we request minimal access)
  • Click Allow

Step 3: Select a Channel

  • After connecting, select a default channel from the dropdown
  • This is where alert notifications will be sent
  • Make sure the QR Advanced bot is invited to private channels

Step 4: Test the Connection

Click Send Test Message to verify everything is working. You should see a confirmation message in your selected channel.

Managing Your Connection

Change Channel

Select a different channel from the dropdown. Alerts will immediately start going to the new channel.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect to remove the Slack integration. This revokes the QR Advanced bot's access to your workspace.

Per-Alert Configuration

You can enable or disable Slack notifications for individual alerts:

  • Go to Alerts
  • Edit an alert
  • Toggle Slack notification on or off
  • Save the alert

This lets you receive Slack notifications only for your most important alerts.

Troubleshooting

Messages Not Appearing

  • Check that Slack is connected and active
  • Verify a default channel is selected
  • Ensure the alert has Slack notifications enabled
  • Make sure the QR Advanced bot is in the channel (for private channels)

"No Slack channel selected" Error

Go to Settings > Integrations > Slack and select a default channel from the dropdown.

Permission Issues

If you see permission errors, try disconnecting and reconnecting Slack. Make sure you're a workspace admin or have permission to install apps.
