What is a Destination?

A destination is the target URL or content that users see after scanning. Dynamic QR codes can have multiple destinations, which enables A/B testing and smart routing.

Destination Types

URL Redirect

The most common type. Sends users to any website you specify.

Landing Page

Redirect to a landing page you've built in QR Advanced.

Benefits:

PDF

Link directly to a PDF document.

App Link

Smart app links that:

  • Open the app if it's installed
  • Redirect to the app store if it's not

Multiple Destinations

Pro and Advanced plans support multiple destinations per QR code.

Why Use Multiple Destinations?

  • A/B Testing: Split traffic between two versions to see which performs better
  • Rules-based routing: Send different users to different pages based on conditions - learn how to set up rules
  • Fallback: Have a backup destination if the primary one fails

Setting a Default

One destination must be marked as Default. This destination is used when:

  • No routing rules match
  • Rules are disabled
  • You just need a simple redirect
